Facelift in Palo Alto

With age, for both women and men, the effects of gravity and repetitive muscle contraction result in changes to the soft tissues of the mid-face, jowl, and neck region. Face-lifting, as one of the nation's most common cosmetic procedures, corrects these changes, restoring a more youthful appearance to the face. Procedures including the full SMAS Facelift, Mini-Lift, Mid-Face Lift, and Neck Lift can address these signs of aging. The facelift may be combined with other procedures, such as Blepharoplasty, Brow Lift, or Chin Augmentation, either at the same time as the facelift or in a staged approach.

As with most cosmetic procedures, there are multiple choices for facial rejuvenation. Your areas of concern, either the mid-face, jowl, and/or neck, will help determine which procedure is most appropriate for you. During your consultation at The Plastic Surgery Center on Woodside, discussing your goals and limitations with Dr. Papalian will allow you to have all of the options presented, not just one. Both surgical and non-surgical rejuvenating techniques should be considered.

Dr. Papalian performs all of the latest lifting techniques, offering minimally invasive and limited scar options. An understanding of which procedure or technique best suits your particular situation will be developed together with Dr. Papalian.

When complete lifting of the mid-face, jowl and neck is desired, Dr. Papalian performs the full SMAS Facelift. This advanced-technique procedure involves tightening the facial and muscular structures, as well as skin, resulting in a more youthful appearance without the “wind-swept” look more common with the older “skin only” facelift. The priorities for Dr. Papalian, with all facial procedures that “turn back the clock”, are a natural and comfortable appearance, which is individualized and does not have the typical “post surgical look.” Experience and trust in your surgeon are critical elements for any procedure, but are most important when surgery is being considered on the face.

Having a comprehensive and trusted consultation by Dr Papalian, who has over 20 years of plastic surgery experience, will ensure you that you are going to have all of your options presented in a thoughtful manner. You will have all the information needed to make the right decision for you. At the time of Your Consultation, a personalized treatment plan will be developed.

Mini-Lift in Palo Alto

With age, for both women and men, the effects of gravity and repetitive muscle contraction result in changes to the soft tissues of the mid-face, jowl, and neck region.

When laxity exists in all the facial regions, patients typically benefit from a full SMAS Facelift. However, there is a subset of patients who do not require all facial areas treated. In the younger patient population, typically the 40s and early 50s, there are patients who would like “some tightening” of the mid face and jowl region, without the need for any neck tightening. These patients can enjoy a nice improvement with the more limited, minimal incision Mini-Lift. The Mini-Lift may be combined with other procedures, such as Blepharoplasty, Brow Lift, or Chin Augmentation, either at the same time as the Mini-Lift or in a staged approach.

As with most cosmetic procedures, there are multiple choices for facial rejuvenation. Your areas of concern, either the mid-face, jowl, and/or neck, will help determine which procedure is most appropriate for you. Discussing your goals and limitations with Dr. Papalian will allow you to have all of the options presented, not just one. Surgical and non-surgical rejuvenating techniques should also to be considered during your consultation at The Plastic Surgery Center on Woodside.

The limited-scar Mini-Lift procedure involves a tightening of the cheek and jowl area with a minimal incision. The procedure is not as extensive as the full Facelift. With recovery and healing time shortened, patients are able to return to normal activities earlier than with the full Face Lift. The options for face lifting are numerous, including non-surgical technologies. The priorities for Dr. Papalian, as with all facial procedures that “turn back the clock”, are a natural and comfortable appearance, which is individualized, and does not have a “post surgical look.” Experience and trust in your surgeon are critical elements for any procedure, but are most important when surgery is being considered on the face.

Mid-Face Lift in Palo Alto

With age, for both women and men, the effects of gravity and repetitive muscle contraction result in changes to the soft tissues of the mid-face, jowl, and neck region.

When laxity exists in all the facial regions, patients typically benefit from a full SMAS Facelift. There are patients, however, that do not require all facial areas treated. In certain individuals, significant laxity of the cheek structure develops, elongating the lid-cheek distance without the need for neck tightening. These patients can enjoy a nice improvement with the more limited Mid-Face Lift. The Mid-Face Lift may be combined with other procedures, such as Blepharoplasty, Brow Lift, or Chin Augmentation, either at the same time as the Mid-Face Lift or in a staged approach.

The Mid-Face Lift procedure involves elevating the cheek area utilizing either a direct approach through the lower eyelid or an endoscopic “barbed suture” technique. The procedure is not as extensive as the full Facelift. With recovery and healing time shortened, patients are able to return to normal activities earlier than with the full Facelift. The options for face lifting are numerous, including non-surgical technologies.
